December Beer Tasting

2017

On December 7th we held our first FREE beer tasting  hosted by Michael Sanderson, Brewing Manager at Samuel Adams in the Meyer Center.  Brother Knight Mark Ramirez prepared several delicious appetizers for the group.      Our plan was to use this event to recruit new male members from the St. Susanna parish to learn more about our organization, the charity work, and Catholic fraternity. GK George Denman delivered a powerful speech describing Knights of Columbus history and sharing some of the benefits of being a member including access to an insurance portfolio of life insurance, long-term care and annuities.  We raffled off some nice door prizes at the tasting including 6-packs of Sam Adams and Kroger gift cards.

Of course every great event is successful because of the many volunteers who helped out.   Helping to promote the event at Mass were George Denman, Jeffrey F. Stepanek, Gary C Topper, Tom Hambly, Steve de Stefano, Jim Weber, Bill Bross, Ralph Dunigan, Jim Winland, Bob Pearson, Jim Marks, Mark Ramirez, and Keith Chasse.

We had 30 attendees including knights and spouses.  The tasting was let by Michael Sanderson who provided a lot of good information about different beer styles and the beer making process.  Attending knights included Jim Marks, George Denman, Steve DeStefano, Bob Pearson, John O’Lone.
